Panic began as so many things do in Carp, a dead-end town of 12,000 people in the middle of nowhere: because it was summer, and there was nothing else to do.
Heather never thought she would compete in Panic, a legendary game played by graduating seniors, where the stakes are high and the payoff is even higher. She’d never thought of herself as fearless, the kind of person who would fight to stand out. But when she finds something, and someone, to fight for, she will discover that she is braver than she ever thought.
Dodge has never been afraid of Panic. His secret will fuel him, and get him all the way through the game, he’s sure of it. But what he doesn’t know is that he’s not the only one with a secret. Everyone has something to play for.
For Heather and Dodge, the game will bring new alliances, unexpected revelations, and the possibility of first love for each of them—and the knowledge that sometimes the very things we fear are those we need the most.
Okey soo, when I bought Panic like a month ago (August) it costed 219 pesos in Argentina and the only thing I know was that the author was the same that wrote ‘Delirium’ and that a lot of people hate Natalie (I still don’t know why 😕) but it has sooo more things that people should know about!
The first thing a want to say is: This book is a contemporary not dystopia, I’ve seen a lot of people thinking that this boos is similar to The Hunger Games and it isn’t, but this is still amazing 💙
It’s set in a small town call Carp where nothing ever happens but a summer some teenagers decide to make challenges to win money, after a couples of year the rules are that every student of the school must pay $1 each day so a the end of the school year is like $12.000 but this year they collected $67.000!! 😲 A lot of seniors decide to play for different reasons and there is when the game starts, the challenges are really dangerous, scary and you can die because of them.
I really enjoy this book and the challegens (I mean, I was REALLY scared while reading them but they were all really extreme and I love that 😉). Also, I really like Heather, she has gone through very bad things but she’s still a powerful, smart and beautiful woman, she’s also a great friend and a really good sister, and I think she was the only one risking her life for a good reason. The only thing I don’t like about her is that she’s always saying/thinking REALLY bad things about herself and comparing herself with other people and… It makes me sooo mad because she’s really cool 😬
And then there’s Dodge a though, mistery guy (who can be sweet sometimes) but he isn’t really bad, he only makes decisions that aren’t the best you can make. I think he’s an awesome friend, you can really trust him but I don’t like him as a son or brother (He’s so annoying when his mother/sister is talking or seeing some man, he gets soo jealous that I can’t stand 😩).
Also, I want to talk about Bishop 😍😍! I LOVE HIM! He’s soo sweet, lovely, charming and a great friend, he’ll never try to hurt some of his friends but he made a decission that is based in love and friendship 😉 but that decission makes him feel really bad and he holds till he can’t anymore. In my opinion, what he did and why was lovely and if you read Panic and read the reason why he did it, you’ll love him even if it’s only for a second 💘
Okey, one more thing about this book. I love it 😃 but I think the end could be more than it was, it wasn’t bad but I was expecting more accion, an extreme and epic final but it wasn’t like that. Still, I like it, it wasn’t the big deal…
Soo, I loove Panic, I think is an amazing book and I’ll read it again sometime 😎
Panic made my days while reading it 90% better 🙌
You should read it if you like suspense, mystery, almost-die scenes (I can’t stop mention this 😩), adventure, fiction and (obviously 😜) contemporary 😊.
That’s all I have to say about Panic, I hope this help you to decide if you want to read it 😁
I hoope you have an amazing day and reading time! 😍
